I have been using Markdown more since getting a Mac earlier this year, and even glad to start being able to use it more inside Silverstripe. I'm using wolfv's version for SS3, and after a little while, I'm running a few fields with Markdown. It's great.

Hey,

wonderful article, and I too love markdown.

And I'm very honored that you mention my little module (the markdown-editor field).
However it's not yet completely ready and there is a bit of a lack of documentation ... But I'll fix that soon enough for the stable 3.0 which will be awesome!
